Support & Understanding

We’re with you for the entire journey.

Care & Understanding When You Need It Most

Coastal IVF offers support to those who undertake the fertility and IVF journey with support from past patients. These past patients offer their services on a voluntary basis. These women are caring, dedicated and eager to support other couples with infertility. You may be surprised how many couples have similar problems and concerns, so sharing information with others who have been through the same treatment may make life much easier.

Please contact the nurse coordinators for any further details regarding Coastal IVF support group.

Counselling & Psychology

While undergoing IVF treatment, a counselling session with our Clinical Psychologist is included in your fees. Please speak with our staff to arrange an appointment.

The Coastal IVF team encourages all new patients to join “access australia” – The National Infertility Support Group. Once registration with us is paid, we will provide membership with access australia. You will receive quarterly newsletters by post and have the opportunity to utilise any of their support group options and their website www.access.org.au

Access Australia

“access australia” – is a consumer based, independent, non profit organisation committed to being a national voice in promoting the well-being and welfare of infertile people of all ages, through representation in the general community and in the medical, scientific and political arenas. The Patrons of “access australia” are Mrs Hazel Hawke and Mrs Glynis Nunn-Cearns OAM.

The founder and Executive Director is Sandra Dill AM. Her experience as a consumer includes investigation of local and overseas adoption, 12 years of infertility treatment including eight IVF attempts, an IVF miscarriage at 14 weeks, facing a decision to cease treatment and finally living with involuntary childlessness. This has provided some insight into the needs of others in similar situations. In 1996, Sandra was appointed by the Govenor General as a Member of the Order of Australia, for community service as a consumer advocate in the area of infertility.

“access australia” provides a cohesive approach to the management of issues and services for infertile people at a national level. Major member services include provision of a range of fact sheets covering many aspects of infertility, a quarterly newsletter, maintenance of a register of infertility self help groups which have been established in regional areas around Australia and New Zealand and a list of accredited infertility clinics. Support is also provided through the access australia Infertility Counsellors Network, comprised of professional counsellors throughout Australasia who work in the field of infertility.

“access australia” seeks to alleviate the pain and isolation of the one in six people who suffer from the debilitating impact of infertility and childlessness by supporting them through their infertility journey and by making them aware of the medical and social options available to help them pursue their wish to have a child of their own.
