Donor Programs

Empowering your path to parenthood through egg, sperm, and embryo donation.

At Coastal IVF, our donor programs help individuals and couples build families through sperm, egg, and embryo donation.
We provide personalised care, comprehensive screening, and compassionate support every step of the way.

Our Donor Programs

All donations in Australia must be altruistic, donors are not paid but can be reimbursed for reasonable out-of-pocket expenses related to the donation process.

Patients may choose to:

  • Use a known donor, such as a friend or family member
  • Access a de-identified (anonymous) donor through our clinic

At Coastal IVF, we provide complete support throughout the process, including medical screening, counselling, legal guidance, and treatment coordination.

Our donor gamete and embryo program operates independently from standard fertility treatments to ensure full compliance with Australian NHMRC guidelines and ethical standards.

Donor Sperm Program

Donor sperm can be used in intrauterine insemination (IUI) or IVF treatment to help achieve pregnancy when sperm is not available or suitable for use. It may be chosen by single women, same-sex couples, or those with severe male factor infertility or genetic conditions that could be passed on.

Donor Options

At Coastal IVF, patients may use:

  • A directed (known) donor – such as a friend or family member
  • An anonymous or de-identified donor, accessed through our clinic or accredited donor programs, including the Seattle Sperm Bank and Central IVF.

All donor sperm undergoes comprehensive medical, genetic, and infectious screening to ensure the highest safety standards.

The Process

Treatment options include:

  • IUI (insemination) – A simple, in-clinic procedure where donor sperm is placed directly into the uterus around ovulation.
  • IVF – Eggs are fertilised with donor sperm in our laboratory, and resulting embryos are transferred into the uterus.

Our experienced team provides guidance through donor selection, counselling, legal requirements, and treatment coordination, ensuring a process that is confidential, ethical, and supportive.

Outcomes and Support

Success rates depend on factors such as age and treatment type.

Coastal IVF offers personalised medical care and emotional support at every step, helping patients feel informed, confident, and cared for throughout their fertility journey.

Donor Egg Program

Donor eggs can help women achieve pregnancy when their own egg quality or quantity is reduced. This option is often recommended for women with premature ovarian insufficiency (POI), low ovarian reserve, genetic conditions, or those who have not responded to previous IVF cycles. It is also an option for same-sex male couples or individuals using a gestational carrier.

Donor Options

At Coastal IVF, patients can access:

  • A directed (known) donor, such as a friend or family member
  • Anonymous or de-identified donors through Central IVF, our trusted Australian donor egg partner

All donor eggs undergo comprehensive medical, genetic, and infectious disease screening in line with NHMRC guidelines, ensuring the highest standards of safety and care.

The Process

Donor eggs are fertilised with sperm from the patient’s partner or a donor in our on-site IVF laboratory. Resulting embryos are cultured and then transferred to the recipient’s uterus, or frozen for later use.Our team coordinates every step, from donor selection, counselling, and legal guidance to embryo transfer and pregnancy care.

Outcomes and Support

Success rates with donor eggs are typically high, as donors are healthy and carefully screened for fertility.

Coastal IVF provides compassionate, personalised support throughout the journey, helping patients and couples feel informed, comfortable, and confident in their treatment choices.

Donor Embryo Program

Donor embryos provide an opportunity for pregnancy using embryos that have been generously donated by previous IVF patients who have completed their own families.

This option can help individuals or couples where both egg and sperm factors are involved, or where other treatments have not been successful.

Donor Source

All donated embryos are created through an assisted reproductive treatment and are donated altruistically in accordance with Australian NHMRC guidelines.

Donors undergo medical, genetic, and infectious screening, and all donations are carefully reviewed and approved by our clinical and scientific teams before use.

The Process

Approved recipient patients are matched with suitable embryos based on medical and ethical criteria.

The embryos are thawed and transferred in a simple frozen embryo transfer (FET) cycle, supported by our experienced fertility specialists and embryology team.

Outcomes and Support

Embryo donation offers a meaningful way to build a family and provides a chance for existing embryos to help others achieve pregnancy.

Coastal IVF provides comprehensive counselling, legal guidance, and medical care to ensure all parties feel supported throughout the process.
